Wild Wisteria Orly Review

So today i have Wild Wisteria by Orly for you. This was a gift from my fellow nail addict Maci. Wild Wisteria is a dark purple, it almost looks black. When i first received it i actually thought it was black until i got a look at it in better light, even today i still look down and think am i wearing black polish.  Its a gorgeous  dark purple though i love wearing it during fall. Its pretty opaque in one coat but i will almost always use two coats of any polish.

Holographic Flowers

photo 1(2)

I’m sorry for the tipwear in this mani, i just started school again and well its been a few days since i had any time to sit and do anything.

Supplies:

  • Moyou London Tourist 07 Plate
  • Wet n Wild Black Creme
  • Color Club Love em/ Leave em
  • Morgan Taylor Go Ahead and Grow
  • Seche Vite Top Coat

I love Holographic nail polishes they’re usually pretty opaque and they’re sooo pretty aren’t they? I sadly do not own too many holos, the only other i own is Color Club Revvvolution.  I had been dying to use the flower image of my Moyou plate but i wasn’t sure how i was going to pair it. I think it turned out great though and i hope you love it!

China Glaze Shocking Pink

I bought this color once before and i guess i just didn’t have the patience to use this color. It would take me a few coats to get it because i would keep being impatient and the color would come off if i went over it without waiting for it to dry. After i ran out of it i bought Pink Voltage by China Glaze as a hopeful replacement but i honestly didn’t like it as much as this color. Pink Voltage had a somewhat cool tinge to it. They  are both neon meaning they are kind of thin and streaky to apply. Shocking Pink applies in about 2-3 coats i used thicker coats. If you use thin coats you risk the color coming off when you pull the brush up. It dries to a matte finish alone but a top coat can remedy that. I will be repurchasing this color once i run out of it again. By the end of a few days not sure how many, the color came off in these flexible chips and I’m  not sure why. maybe it was the Seche Vite or the color itself but i felt i should include that. when i use it again ill update on what happens.

Five Below Haul!

So recently i went to my local Five Below and scored some polish 3 for $5 which im almost sure is a year round promotion. I bought two colors and one glitter.

The light blue is Bonna Blue

This purple is called Passion Fruit

The colors all applied wonderfully and i saw how opaque each was and wondered if they would work for stamping.

They do! 😀 at least these two colors do. my rule of thumb is usually that if the polish is a one coater it usually works for stamping as well.

Here they are stamped on a post it note and then over black

The glitter is called The Notebook

Bonna Blue

Product list:

  • Wet n Wild Black Creme
  • Fresh Paint Bonna Blue
  • Moyou London Stamping plate from the tourist collection #07

Again i have a problem with my black polish not being opaque when it comes to designs that are more open. when it comes to other closed designs it stamps perfectly. i need a darker black and if anyone has any suggestions comment below.  I’m gonna be honest i wasn’t crazy about this manicure and it was one of those ideas that wasn’t executed how i wanted. I did choose to share it in an effort to inspire anyone with ideas.

Mickey Mouse

Product List:

  • Morgan Taylor Go Ahead and Grow base coat
  • Hello kitty Banana cream
  • Wet n wild Black Creme
  • Stamping plate KD3

I wish i had a more opaque polish for the mickey mouse pattern. The plate itself is also too short for my nails so they’re a little warped looking. Overall a really cute manicure and  a decent stamping plate. would not recommend the plate for those with long nail beds. if anyone wants a tutorial id be happy to make one.

15. Mexican Pink

On a side note Mexican Pink does slightly stain any white stampers. I don’t mind it but others might.

The shipping from Mexico varies by location and by the amount of polish you purchase. There is a shipping chart on her website that can help you figure out the cost. There is also a chart on her Facebook that tells you which colors stamp over black and which stamp over white.

on top of the confetti set i also ordered #1 White (full size) and #21 Purple in mini size which is a 5ml bottle. Both the white and purple also stamp over black.

All the full size bottles cost $3.50 usd

the mini cost $1.65 usd

1. White

i actually had a problem with my purple when i unwrapped it from its packaging it was damaged, the top of the bottle separated from the bottle itself you cant really tell in the picture.  I contacted Sylvia about it and she got back to me right away.

This is the comparison of the regular sized bottle and the mini. The mini bottle is about the same size as those Bon Bon nail polishes you find at walmart.

The full size polish Essie polish below is 15ml and the Mundo De Unas polish is 14ml.

When it comes to these polish they are thicker than other polishes they wont dry as fast. You have a little bit more time to perfectly stamp.  It’s best to wait a few seconds before stamping onto your nails so as to not ruin your manicure. A little bit of color goes a long way, everyone says that but its true. you really don’t have to use very much.  Some people say that the colors stain your stamper but the only one that did that is 15. Mexican Pink. Everyone raves about these colors, believe the hype they stamp vibrantly over black and the colors are awesome. I would gladly purchase more polishes. The polish bottles don’t come with mixing balls so it is wise to buy some as they will need mixing because they are pretty thick.

Swanette over at Nailstamp4fun has a great Swatch video she also has her own review on this set and 2. black which i haven’t purchased yet.

Currently: Sylvia of Mundo De Unas is choosing not to ship internationally due to people bad mouthing her products and rude customers. The whole nail stamping community is hoping she changes her mind. She has an amazing product and we can’t let a few people ruin it for us and her hard work.
