Next put drops of the china glaze shocking pink and china glaze flip flop fantasy and some dots of the morgan taylor doo wop like so

IMG_7247

use your stamper and squish the colors. When you pick it up it should look like this

IMG_7250

Stamp it on to your nails, either just kind of roll it on or wait a few seconds for it to dry a little bit. If you want an area to have a certain color you could do the step above with just one color and place it where you want.

China Glaze Ruby Pumps!

Hello my lovey nail polish lovers!

What a week i have started school again. I have recently changed nail shape due to the fact my nails weren’t doing to well with the squoval shape.

Today i bring you China Glaze’s Ruby Pumps! yay glitter! It’s such a beautiful red on the darker side. I don’t know why i hadn’t pick this color up before. The formula is great I used 2-3 coats and it’s opaque. I had no problems while applying it and it didn’t dry gritty feeling. The glitters in this polish are pretty fine and you can see them below in the macro shot.

I used seche vite as my top coat and Morgan Taylor’s Go Ahead and Grow Base Coat

Since the glitter in it is so fine its very easy to take off. There are no problems whatsoever when removing it. When it comes to glitter it’s one of the things i dislike the most how stubborn it is. Then you have cotton ripping off the cotton ball or pad, its a mess. However i can say i had no problems with this and I’ll probably be wearing it a lot more.

What do you think of my nail shape? I have basically only had squoval shaped nails. It’s new i think i kind of like it.

Soft Sienna Silks by China glaze Review! (Bonus stamping NOTD )

Hello my lovely people of the internet!  I’m sorry i haven’t been able to blog more but i really just have a lot to do for school and no time.

Today i used is called Soft Sienna Silks by China Glaze

the formula is watery and its thin, it will take at least 3 coats to get to an opaque color. This is a bronze with tiny specs of shimmer. The shimmer gives it a little boost so its not a boring bronze/coppery color.  It’s very warm and i was honestly a little worried about how it would look with my skin.

IMG_3769

It took three coats in order to reach an opacity i am comfortable with. I really don’t like having my nails smile line show through, so i usually like nail polish that is opaque in 2-3 coats.

IMG_3752

here is a picture close up of the color and you can see the sparkles/shimmer in it, so pretty.

On to the stamping!

I used my trusty Wet n Wild Black Creme polish. For stamping the plate i used is Viva Mexico Jumbo Plate 1 by Cheeky which you can find for a cheap price on amazon.

oh jeeze please ignore that giant fuzz on my nail! :s

check out that shimmer

Here’s a close up of the nail

sdvkjvljs

it came out a little patchy i might have pushed down a little hard or it might be too thin. I used my new Messy Mansion squishy stamper I’m so used to using my Winstonia Squishy firm. I bought the Messy Mansion squishy stamper because i really needed a stamper that would stretch out my smaller images and I’m glad i got it. i don’t quite have the hang of it yet but i think ill get better at it. I used it today with this manicure seeing as my nails are long right now and the plate images are just a bit too small for my long nail beds and not wide enough for my thumb.

China Glaze Shocking Pink

I bought this color once before and i guess i just didn’t have the patience to use this color. It would take me a few coats to get it because i would keep being impatient and the color would come off if i went over it without waiting for it to dry. After i ran out of it i bought Pink Voltage by China Glaze as a hopeful replacement but i honestly didn’t like it as much as this color. Pink Voltage had a somewhat cool tinge to it. They  are both neon meaning they are kind of thin and streaky to apply. Shocking Pink applies in about 2-3 coats i used thicker coats. If you use thin coats you risk the color coming off when you pull the brush up. It dries to a matte finish alone but a top coat can remedy that. I will be repurchasing this color once i run out of it again. By the end of a few days not sure how many, the color came off in these flexible chips and I’m  not sure why. maybe it was the Seche Vite or the color itself but i felt i should include that. when i use it again ill update on what happens.

Here is Shocking Pink from a previous post, its topped off with crackle and Seche Vite.

Life preserver (Picture Tutorial) and how to make your polish opaque for stamping!

So today’s manicure we have this cute life preserver image

what i used:

  • Beauty secrets base coat from sallys
  • Seche vite
  • Winstonia xl squishy stamper
  • China Glaze Turned up Turquoise (neon)
  • China Glaze pink voltage (neon)
  • wet n wild French White Cream
  • Essie Licorice
  • Cheeky  plate CH36

When it comes to  neon polishes they’re not known for being very opaque. I wanted to stamp with them but if i were to stamp with the colors alone they would not show up.  in order for me to get the neons to show up i need to make them more opaque by adding a white. the colors aren’t as vibrant as they would be had i used them alone but they now show up on black with this technique. I didn’t come up with this technique at all I’ve seen it around so i don’t know who did.

now onto the tutorial!

start off with your base coat and then one or two coats of Essie licorice and wait for it to dry

DSCN0160

next get your stamping plate ready in our case its this cheeky one

DSCN0158

apply Pink Voltage to the top left quadrant like so

DSCN0161

next apply Turned up Turquoise right under

DSCN0162

next to those two colors apply a stripe of the white. the color will change depending on how much white you add.

DSCN0164

next we are going to scrape to the right really fast in an effort to blend the colors together.

it should now look like this

DSCN0166

then you continue on as your normally would for stamping. i used my Winstonia xl squishy stamper to pick up the image

DSCN0171

just roll it on to your nail, next we just clean up the nail using a brush or q tip, and add a nice coat of nail polish 😀

I hope you found this useful happy stamping everyone!
