Viva la Manicure

So i haven’t been on much and i apologize there is a lot going on in my life at the moment.

Today i bring you a tutorial! woo! i love tutorials by other bloggers and i hope mine helps anyone who sees it.

Seche Vite

Cheeky- Viva Mexico Jumbo Plate

Morgan Taylor- go ahead and grow

China Glaze- shocking pink

China Glaze- flip flop fantasy

Morgan Taylor- doo Wop

Wet n Wild- Black

First paint your nails with  a coat of the yellow. if you don’t have it or are doing it with a different colors, use white or the lightest color.

Next put drops of the china glaze shocking pink and china glaze flip flop fantasy and some dots of the morgan taylor doo wop like so

use your stamper and squish the colors. When you pick it up it should look like this

Stamp it on to your nails, either just kind of roll it on or wait a few seconds for it to dry a little bit. If you want an area to have a certain color you could do the step above with just one color and place it where you want.

I cleaned up a little bit before i stamped on the image from the Viva Mexico plate by Cheeky.

just clean up a bit more and add a top coat for your finished look.

Soft Sienna Silks by China glaze Review! (Bonus stamping NOTD )

Hello my lovely people of the internet!  I’m sorry i haven’t been able to blog more but i really just have a lot to do for school and no time.

Today i used is called Soft Sienna Silks by China Glaze

the formula is watery and its thin, it will take at least 3 coats to get to an opaque color. This is a bronze with tiny specs of shimmer. The shimmer gives it a little boost so its not a boring bronze/coppery color.  It’s very warm and i was honestly a little worried about how it would look with my skin.

It took three coats in order to reach an opacity i am comfortable with. I really don’t like having my nails smile line show through, so i usually like nail polish that is opaque in 2-3 coats.

here is a picture close up of the color and you can see the sparkles/shimmer in it, so pretty.

On to the stamping!

I used my trusty Wet n Wild Black Creme polish. For stamping the plate i used is Viva Mexico Jumbo Plate 1 by Cheeky which you can find for a cheap price on amazon.

oh jeeze please ignore that giant fuzz on my nail! :s

check out that shimmer

and lastly up close and personal with flash

hope you guys enjoy the manicure!

Life preserver (Picture Tutorial) and how to make your polish opaque for stamping!

So today’s manicure we have this cute life preserver image

what i used:

  • Beauty secrets base coat from sallys
  • Seche vite
  • Winstonia xl squishy stamper
  • China Glaze Turned up Turquoise (neon)
  • China Glaze pink voltage (neon)
  • wet n wild French White Cream
  • Essie Licorice
  • Cheeky  plate CH36

When it comes to  neon polishes they’re not known for being very opaque. I wanted to stamp with them but if i were to stamp with the colors alone they would not show up.  in order for me to get the neons to show up i need to make them more opaque by adding a white. the colors aren’t as vibrant as they would be had i used them alone but they now show up on black with this technique. I didn’t come up with this technique at all I’ve seen it around so i don’t know who did.

now onto the tutorial!

start off with your base coat and then one or two coats of Essie licorice and wait for it to dry

next get your stamping plate ready in our case its this cheeky one

apply Pink Voltage to the top left quadrant like so

next apply Turned up Turquoise right under

next to those two colors apply a stripe of the white. the color will change depending on how much white you add.

next we are going to scrape to the right really fast in an effort to blend the colors together.

it should now look like this

then you continue on as your normally would for stamping. i used my Winstonia xl squishy stamper to pick up the image

just roll it on to your nail, next we just clean up the nail using a brush or q tip, and add a nice coat of nail polish 😀

I hope you found this useful happy stamping everyone!

Cheeky Aztec NOTD

Nail confession time: You guys ever have that one nail polish you bought on sale, when you get home you think to yourself when will i ever wear that color?

This is what i did with Essie’s Demure Vixen. I bought it maybe two years ago on sale without seeing any swatches or anything. Don’t get me wrong the color is gorgeous and is this taupe color duo chrome with a purple sheen. I just never knew how i would even use the color because on its own i thought it would look hideous with my skin color.

So for today’s manicure i used Essie’s Demure Vixen as my base color. The stamping images are from the Cheeky Jumbo plate 1 called Viva Mexico! The black polish is my regular Wet n Wild Black Creme.

These nails are Bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S! (Picture Tutorial)

Click the pictures to enlarge! So recently i got some inspiration from my cheeky plate CH42 which features bananas. DSCN0107

What I used:

  • Cheeky Stamping plate CH42
  • Beauty Secrets Base Coat
  • Seche Vite Top Coat
  • China Glaze Recycle
  • Acrylic paint in Bright Yellow by Apple barrel
  • Wet n Wild Black Creme for stamping
  • Winstonia Squishy Stamper
  • Tweezers
  • toothpick or dotting tools
  • Brush for cleanup around the nails

First i started out with a base coat using the beauty secrets base coat and on top of that China Glaze Recycle

To make the stamp decals i used Wet n Wild black creme

Next you fill the bananas in with Apple barrel Acrylic paint in Bright Yellow then wait for it to dry DSCN0128

I applied the base coat over the stamp following the shape and wait for it to dry

I peeled off the decal that was made and applied it to the nail without applying anything on the nail after the base color dried, press down on the decal and smooth it down onto the nail.

clean up around the nail with a nail brush or cotton swab apply a healthy amount of top coat And now you’re done!

This is the finished product congratulations on your manicure!
